Once you get in game, it is your job to constantly be checking the map to see what gank opportunities are available to you. Weak enemy laners can also be preyed upon, even if your crowd control is lacking. Lanes with ally crowd control will be easier to create a successful gank. Though you will not know how the lanes will play out, you can discern what lanes on your team have crowd control. If you fear you cannot take it before the other jungler contests you, again call to your allies for help.Īs a jungler, you can start to plan your early game pathing in champion select. They both spawn at the same time, so the jungler can’t take both at once. If you conclude that you aren’t in a good position to fight for it, instead path to the other Rift Scuttler. Also remember that using Smite on the Rift Scuttler during a fight will gain you health. If you fight for it, be prepared to call your allies for help. The opposing jungler may have come to the same conclusion. If the fight looks to be advantageous, go for the Rift Scuttler. Some things to consider before choosing to fight over it include: how healthy you are after your initial clear, how strong your jungler is early game compared to the opponent, and how able your laners are to quickly come to your aid in a fight. Of course, the opposing jungler will be thinking the same thing.Īssuming both junglers start on the same side of the map, you can choose whether or not to force an engagement around the Scuttler spawn. That makes it a great early target to regenerate your health while earning gold and experience. Unlike the other camps, this Rift Scuttler does not fight back. Rift Scuttler SpawnĪt 3:15 a neutral jungle camp spawns in the top and bottom rivers. The heal your champion gets from using Smite will also leave you healthier as you plan your next move on the map. Strong early game junglers could be looking to invade your second buff, so holding your Smite for the finishing blow is recommended. In either case, you will want to save your Smite for your second buff if possible. The two safer options are to begin a full clear of your jungle, or continue the aforementioned three camp start. The most aggressive option is to quickly level two gank in an attempt to pick up an early kill. Killing the buff will give you level 2 and access to a second spell to help you clear your next camp faster.Īfter starting at a buff, you decide on one of three actions. Use the leash that your bot lane gives you to kill the buff quickly and without needing the large burst from Smite. You want to kill your first buff without using Smite. This is because your bot lane has two people to leash instead of the one top laner if you were to start with your top buff. To get the best leash possible, you can choose to start with the buff nearest your bot lane. The first decision to make in your clear is which buff to start. Killing wolves or raptors no longer provides enough experience to hit level three after three camps. With the recent changes to the jungle, the best way to do this is to clear either red or blue buff, clear gromp, and then the other buff. The classic first jungle clear in League of Legends has always been to clear both buffs and a third camp in between to hit level three. Tank junglers buy cheap, cost-effective health and resist items and go for low economy builds to let the rest of the team carry. They generally prioritize ganking early and often to set-up success for their laners. Tank junglers are for setting up the rest of the team. When they do gank, carry junglers are expecting to secure kills. Carry junglers don’t gank as often as tank junglers. They farm as much as possible while trying to avoid early conflict with the enemy jungler. Carry JunglersĬarry junglers exist to add more damage to the team composition. That said, the most common jungler roles are carry and tank. You can almost always find a champion that can successfully clear the jungle for the role the team needs. Junglers can fit many roles because they are often the wildcard of the team. Buff is 100% free to use, so there’s no reason not to start getting buffed today.
